The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Annet Anita Among has committed to work with the Kingdom of Busoga to eradicate poverty and uplift the standards of the people in the area.

She made the commitment on Saturday while hosting the Kyabazinga of Busoga His Royal Highness William Gabula Nadiope IV at her residence in Budiope, Buyende District.

“We thank Isebantu for Honouring us with his presence and for being at the Centre of efforts to transform communities and the lives of our people in Busoga. We had a fruitful discussion about how we can work together to push the development agenda of the kingdom and support initiatives to eradicate poverty in this beautiful kingdom,” Among reiterated.

“I also want to thank all the elected Leaders who joined us for this significant engagement with Isebantu. When we work together with cultural institutions, we can achieve amazing things,” she added.

The meeting was also attended by Budiope East lawmaker Eng Moses Magogo, Commissioner of Parliament Solomon Silwany, Buzaaya MP Martin Muzale and the Buyende District Woman MP Nakato Mary Annet.

The Speaker together with area MP Moses Magogo would thereafter traverse the constituency while interacting with the locals and also visiting Health facilities, Schools and other centres of service delivery.

The pair held a meeting with the management and staff of Kagulu Primary School where a contribution was made to enable the completion of a Girls Dormitory at the school.

From there, they interacted with the team at Mama Maliya foundation, an entity that is doing amazing work in the community where they made a contribution to support the roofing and completion of a Maternity ward to better access to health services for Mothers.

At Bugaya Health Centre, they interacted with the staff and thanked them for the good work they do before making a contribution to support the completion of the maternity ward at the facility.
