The Uganda U-17 national women team has Sunday afternoon been eject from the 2022 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifiers following their 1-1 draw with Ethiopia in the return leg in Addis Ababa.
Both teams went in today’s game when tied 2-2 on aggregate after the first leg played at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on March 4, 2022.
Uganda’s Shakira Nyinagahirwa opened the deadlock with her fantastic score at the 33rd minute, a goal that Ethiopia later equalized to level matters until the final whistle.
This means that although the teams are leveled at 3-3 on aggregate, Ethiopia proceed to the next round on away goals rule.
