The Commander of the land forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has in a shocking revelation said he is being fought by elders in the military.

Without mentioning the specifics of fight and the identity of the said elders, Muhoozi wrote on twitter, that he wonders why the people who should be supporting resorted to fighting and pulling him down instead.

“In my military career, I have faced the most resistance from some of my elders. People who should have been supporting me, were fighting me all the time. I can only describe that as backward culture. I promise to always support the young people of Uganda,” Lt Gen Muhoozi who is also a son to President Yoweri Museveni, wrote on twitter on Sunday morning.

There is currently at least no known rivalry in the public domain between Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and older military officers.

Commenting on the same, one of Gen Muhoozi’s renowned supporters, events promoter, Balaam Barugahara, sent a stunning warning to the said elders in the military who are ‘fighting’ what he called a generational leader, to stop it or else risk being exposed.

“Our elders fighting our generational leader, we shall name you soon but we are army of Millions protecting and promoting our generational leader Muhoozi Kainerugaba. So do it at your own risk. We don’t fear you but we respect you, we are the new generation of Uganda and Africa,” Balaam writes.

The military general who previously served as the commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC), was in 2017 appointed Presidential Adviser, fueling speculations he is being prepared for the Presidency.

He was reappointed as the Commander of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) in December 2020, a position he had held from 2008 to 2017.
