The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II, has awarded Busoga’s BABA Television for its distinguished services in the field of information dissemination, and maintaining good relations with the Kingdom.

Since its inception a couple years ago, BABA Television has extensively covered developments in Buganda Kingdom, relaying their live events, conducting interviews with kingdom officials including the PREMIER, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, as well as rallying masses towards engaging in kingdom activities.

A certificate of appreciation written in Luganda and signed by Owek. Mayiga, particularly heaps praise on the leading TV station in Eastern Uganda and one of the best in the country, for the publicity it has offered to developments in Buganda Kingdom.

“This station has been awarded this certificate in appreciation of the cooperation, good relationship and support it has offered to Buganda Kingdom in terms of publicizing activities and programs of the kingdom,” says Buganda Kingdom in a certificate given to BABA TV.

The station’s Chief Executive Officer, Moses Grace Balyeku, couldn’t hold his pleasure and excitement about the development. In what seems like a response, he took to Twitter and pledged further commitment to cooperating with Buganda Kingdom.

“Whoever does good, deserves to be appreciated. Thank you Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga for appreciating our work. As BABA Television, we are very pleased and promise to keep the cooperation.”

BABA Television under BABA media group, is a house-hold name in Busoga Sub-region in Eastern Uganda also called Basoga Baino TV.

With a commanding viewership in the Eastern and other parts of the country , BABA TV was ranked number 3 during the just conclude General Elections, according to a report by African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) Titled, “Uganda news media coverage of the 2021 elections”.

The station is one of the fastest growing television brands. It broadcasts mainly in three languages interchangeably, with varying percentages – Lusoga at 50%, Luganda at 40% and English at 10%.

Baba TV is the Official Busoga Kingdom TV, with studios in Jinja City and Kampala, and available to watch on all digital platforms including DSTV CH374, Azam TV CH365, ZUKU CH522, GOTV CH 393, Star sat CH 505 and StarTimes CH235.
