President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Ibrahim Kitatta as the National Communications Assistant of the Kyambogo based office of the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The development has been confirmed by Kitatta himself in an interview with this investigative news website.

“It is true I have received communication that the President has tasked me with the responsibility to be the spokesperson of his office as party Chairman based in Kyambogo. I am thankful to His Excellency for entrusting me to serve him, it is an honor and a duty that I will do with all my energy, ” Kitatta told Plus News.

He says the appointment takes immediate effect.

Currently Kitatta is the Chairperson LCV of Lwengo District. Asked how he will balance the two demanding responsibilities, Kitatta said he will easily execute them excellently.

“I believe in collective responsibility and that is how every thing is done. The work at the District is mostly done by the Council and indeed there are vibrant young men and women who serve on the District Executive Committee of Lwengo whom I will continue guiding at the strategic level,” explains Kitatta.

Recently, President Museveni appointed Hadija Namyalo Uzeiye as the Head of the same office replacing Milly Babirye Babalanda who was appointed Minister for Presidency.

Kitatta, a renowned Musevenist and NRM mobilizer is expected to breath life to the office of the National Chairman of the NRM given his unparalleled mobilization skills.

The soft spoken Lwengo District Chairperson holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting, a Certified Public Accountant of Uganda, an Honours Bachelors degree from Makerere University, and currently a Law Student at Makerere University.

He has served in many capacities including Coordinator Eastern Africa for The Khartoum based Arab Youth, Secretary General and National Treasurer of National Youth Council of Uganda and NRM Youth League Chairperson for Buganda Region.

Before becoming Lwengo District Local Government Chairperson in May 2021, he was the Youth leader of the District.
