The Commander Land Forces, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba delivered President Yoweri Museveni’s special message to the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.

The meeting, according to Gen Muhoozi happened recently in Kenya’s Capital, Nairobi.

“It was an honour and pleasure to meet my big brother and friend President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi recently. I also delivered to him a special message from H.E Yoweri Museveni,” revealed Gen Muhoozi on Twitter.

He has however not disclosed details of the meeting and what the President’s special message entailed.

Gen Muhoozi and President Kenyatta enjoy good personal and formal relations. Muhoozi has on various occasions publicly referred to the Kenyan leader as his big brother.

At the beginning of this year, Gen Muhoozi who is also President Museveni’s adviser in charge of special operations, said: “My big brother, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, is one of the greatest Presidents Africa has ever had. He is intelligent, humble and extremely charming.”

Prior to this, Kenyatta had invited Muhoozi to join him in the inauguration of the Inland Container Depot in Naivasha, Kenya.

He would thereafter describe Kenya as his second home before reiterating that “astrong East Africa is the only way to go.”

In April this year, when Muhoozi was preparing to celebrate his 48th birthday anniversary, he hinted on inviting Kenyatta to attend.

“Spoke to my beloved big brother, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, this morning. I love him very much, I will always be on his side! I hope he attends the birthday party,” said Muhoozi.

For the past couple of months, Gen Muhoozi has been in overdrive to strengthen his and Uganda’s relations with regional and continental leaders, a move described by many as strategic for his future political endeavors.

In fact, although Muhoozi denies wanting to be president, many believe he is on a well orchestrated mission to create as many regional allies as possible for his alleged ambitions to succeed his father as President of Uganda.

In March, Muhoozi met and held talks with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, both sides committing to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

He was key in restoring relations between Uganda and Rwanda which were frost for more than 3 years. He singlehandedly flew to Kigali and engaged President Paul Kagame whom he refers to as his Uncle, leading to the reopening of borders and resumption of cross-border trade between the two countries.
