Police in Nakaseke has arrested six people for allegedly stealing a pistol and a Machine Gun. The suspects have been identified as Denis Mpiima, Meddie Matovu, Harunah Mulire, David Mbayo, and David Nabizi.

They were all picked from Kimegeredde zone in Semuto.  The other suspect innocent Makibo was arrested at Bunakya village in Kapeeka sub-county in possession of a pistol.

Isah Ssemwogerere explains that last week, Robert Edim the Manager of Hash Security Limited Company in Kapeeka Industrial Park reported a loss of his pistol loaded with 15 bullets.

Ssemwogerere says that during investigations, Makibo was found in possession of the missing pistol.

Ssemwogerere says that all the suspects were handed over to Flying Squad at Luwero Central Police Station. He says that police will establish if there were any robbery cases in which they have been involved in.

Paul Jjuuko the Vice LCIII Chairperson of Semuto town explains that trouble for the five suspects stemmed from photos that they took while posing with a gun using a stolen phone. He says that when the phone was tracked, the people in the photo were identified as residents of Kimegeredde zone.

Jjuuko suspects that the gun could have been used in burglaries and a recent robbery incident at Total Petrol Station in Semuto town council.

Recently armed thugs also raided Fred Sewagmumaa resident of Nkuzongere Katale zone in Semuto and stole household items.

Last year, 10 suspected robbers armed with a pump-action gun and machetes raided a quarry belonging to Jiu Zhou Stone company Uganda Limited, a Chinese firm located at Lule Ward in Semuto town council.

The notorious robbers cut two Policemen leaving them with head wounds before they also disappeared with two guns as well as unknown sums of money.
