Hussein Kalule,the President of Uganda Ludo Federation believes the future is brighter for the sport of Ludo in the country.

This is after Uganda topped the latest International Ludo Federation (ILF) rankings that were released on 29th April 2023.

Uganda is the first country from the African continent to be ranked as the best Ludo playing nation ending the dominance of India and Brazil.

On this note, Hussein Kalule the President of Uganda Ludo Federation forecasts more is yet to come as he states;

“we thank GOD for enabling us hit such a milestone,but in all we expected it from the efforts we’ve put in, our promise is that we shall stay on the top with enough support from Government.” Said joyous Hussein Kalule.

Hussein Kalule who also doubles as the Africa Ludo Federation President hinted about the Federations’ new startegic plan that will help them reap bigger as he adds.

“we are embarking on spreading the sport to schools starting with this year so that we can get future National team stars that will represent the country and make us proud” ,Said Hussein Kalule.

In the Rankings, Uganda managed to scoop a total of 105 points after registering masterstrokes against India (90 points) and Brazil (88 points) between 2020-2022.

The rankings were based on a number of perimeters that included Domestic Leagues, National and International Leadership plus Participation and Performance in highly rated tournaments.

Performance wise , Uganda bossed the the years 2020-2022 with Nansana Galaxy Ludo Club winning the 2020 Africa Ludo Club Championship (ALCC) in Dubai, Uganda Ludo National Team ( Uganda Doves ) winning the 2021 Africa Ludo Cup Of Nations (AL-CON) and wrapping it up in style winning the 2022 World Ludo Championship (World Cup) in Nepal&Dubai were they were debutants.

Uganda has two international engagements this year and the Uganda National Team (Uganda Doves) will travel to South Africa in September 2023 to defend the (AL-CON) trophy ,and later the International Ludo Individual Champions in November 2023 in Dubai.
