While visiting some of the survivors in yesterday’s accident of National Unity Platform(NUP) mobilisers and other people including journalist with Buganda Broadcasting Services(BBS) Amon Kitamirike on their way to Omoro ahead of the by election on May 26, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi wine has sympathised with the survivors of the fatal accident which occured on May 21 along Iganga-Kumi road in eastern Uganda which left 2 dead.
On his visit ,he was accompanied by top officials from NUP such as Joel Ssenyonyi ,David Lewis Rubongoya among others.
“As we arrived in Omoro yesterday, we received terrible news of the passing of two comrades Waiswa Denis (Iganga) and Yakubu Kiggundu (Kawempe) in a car accident. May their souls rest in peace. Praying for comfort for their families and all of us who worked with them.” says Bobi wine through a tweet .
Bobi wine as a way of sending off the fallen mobiliser to eternity he attended his burial and wished his soul to rest in peace .
The principle also thanked all the thousands who gathered in solidarity to send off Kiggundu.
“Earlier today at the burial of comrade Kiggundu Yakubu who passed away in a fatal accident that occurred yesterday on the road towards Kumi District. The late Kiggundu has been our LC III Councillor for Kazo Angola A in Kawempe North. May his soul rest in peace.” adds Bobi wine .
“I thank all leaders and comrades who turned up in thousands to bid farewell to our dear brother and elected councillor, Yakubu Kiggundu. This solidarity gives me hope for a better future,”. says Bobi wine
According to the Spokesperson of Kumi Police Post ,Ageca Oscar Gregory the cause of the accident is said to have been sparked off when the tyre of the Toyata wish UBD 657 A burst which made the vehicle over turn profusely leaving 2 dead and other people who were in the vehicle injured.
