During the Saturday parents’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held at , St Mary’s College,Kisubi (SMACK) on March 19 , Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) ,a former presidential aspirant in the 2021 general elections raised a complaint about the suspension of his son Solomon Sekayi Kampala under un clear circumstances .

In a letter that was confirmed to the media about Solomon’s possession of drugs by the SMACK headteacher Brother Deodati Aliganyira on Feb 21 on various news platforms. Bobi Wine claims that the suspension of his son Kampala was just a bias against him.

In a letter that read ,A fortnight ago, Solomon Kampala was nabbed with joints of weed, wrapped in papers like cigarettes and he was subsequently kicked out of school temporarily, as a way of disciplining him.

“He (Sekayi) was caught with marijuana substance wrapped in papers like cigarette sticks and a lighter in his suitcase,” the suspension letter reads in

“Kyagulanyi Sekayi Solomon is therefore suspended from the college for two weeks with effect from Tuesday, Febraury 1, based on a resolution to zero tolerance for indiscipline,” the letter reads further.

“This will serve as his last warning: should your son be involved in any form of indiscipline after the last warning, there will be no other alternative but only to go on indefinite suspension,” part of the letter sent to Bobi Wine and Barbie Kyagulanyi reads.

Despite the claims against his son , from the general public, Bobi Wine remained silent till during the AGM which was held yesterday at SMACK where he aired out his opinion.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) Principle narrated to the parents of how long his son had faced discriminatory action from Aliganyira .For example Kampala was denied to stand for any leadership post because he was an average student unlike the requirements which called for an A material student to stand for any post .

This brought up a loud mumour from the parents who sympathised with Bobi wine.

He claims that his son faces psychological torture since most of the students and the teachers who are close to him face expulsion from the Headteacher.

“I have access to the media but i shunned the it in order to address the issue here at the school unlike the Headteacher who kept running to the media who confirmed Kampala’s suspension on February 21 even after the meeting they had and agreed that this matter should not be raised in the media,” said Bobi Wine

When I interacted with my son Kampala about his possession of drugs he said , he challenges the school administration through the disciplinary committee to check the CCTV camera footage but unfortunately the footage was not in place since it had been flashed out a day before .

Bobi wine adds that to his dismay a school of this calibre failed to investigate such a case and how can it convince us that it can investigate a school fire.
