The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has joined the entire country to mourn the death of the Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Omoro County , the Rt.Hon.Jacob Oulanya Lo’kori who passed away from a hospital in Seattle ,United States of America (USA) where he was receiving treatment from for a number of weeks.

The party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat while addressing journalists at the FDC party head quarters in Najjanakumbi, described Oulanya as a gifted poliician and uniting and fair person.

Oulanya at the time of his death had barely spent nine months after winning the Speakership race in May 2021.

Amuriat says Oulanya’s political career started in 1988 when he had joined Makerere University to pursue his studies where he was the Speaker in the Students’ Guild which had Nobert Mao the Democratic Party (DP) was Guild President.

“It is regretable that many prominent Ugandans had to die while receiving treatment abroad died which exposed the poor health in Uganda and calls upon the NRM government to put in more resources to improve the health ” says Amuriat .

On behalf of the FDC, he conveyed sincere condolence to the nation,to the NRM government,the people of Omoro County and the Acholi people.

As a way of mourning with the nation, FDC therefore postponed its northern program which was meant to commence on Thursday this week and flags will rise at half mast at all party offices world wide.

May the soul of the faithful departed rest in peace.
