The State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Agnes Nandutu, has spoken out on reports claiming she is dead, saying she is alive and serving her country.

Social media platforms were on Saturday evening awash with condolences messages to her friends and family as well as praying for her soul to rest in peace.

“RIP Hon Nandutu. We will miss you,” posted a one Mariam Kyomugasho on Facebook.

The reports that left many in shock, invigorated the Minister, who is also the Bududa District Woman Member of Parliament to come out to clear the air.

“Who are those spreading lies that I am dead? Countrymen, those who love me, don’t cry. I am very much alive and kicking,” she said in a video recording.

“Those who are spreading rumours, can you let me enjoy my life as I serve this country?” asked Nandutu as she sipped a cup of what seemed to be coffee.

The Minister was reportedly admitted to a hospital in Kampala after allegedly falling in the bathroom about a week ago.

The accident is said to have happened at her home in Kampala from her bathroom after a shower.
